1.  If you used Netinstall 5.5 to install Cygwin, talk with whoever you got
Netinstall from to figure out your configuration problem.

2.  What output do you get from 'cygcheck -s'?

3.  Installing Cygwin in the root directory of a drive is not a good idea.
