Win32 error 8 on W98 box

Hello,
When I attempt to start apache, I get the following error:

c:\cygwin\usr\sbin\httpd.exe:  *** couldn't allocate memory 0X10000(4128768)
for 'c:\cygwin\lib\apache\mod_imap.dll' alignment, Win32 error

I've seen lots of references to this error on google, etc. but can't locate
a way to resolve it.  Please advise.
