does cygwin gdb support follow-fork-mode?

Cygwin 1.3.12, gdb 2002-07-19-cvs

I've tried setting follow-fork-mode to "child" and "ask", but 
gdb keeps right on going with the parent and I never see the child.

Should setting follow-fork-mode work?
