Makefile *** missing separator

 I believe "separator" in makefiles equals the TAB character.

 a) Ensure that you type them at apropriate positions ($ info make)
 b) Ensure that your editor *keeps* them where you typed them
   (i.e. do not use notepad - or similar tools)
