Error checking out Cygwin source

I just installed Cygwin using the default settings.  I then used the Cygwin
setup program to download the CVS package.  Next, I followed the
instructions on the web site to download the Cygwin source.  Unfortunately,
CVS is reporting an error (see below).  Any suggestions for solving this
problem?

Matt@Dell ~/cygwin
$ cvs checkout winsup
cvs [checkout aborted]: reading from server: Socket operation on non-socket
