$ ssh-keygen -t rsa
Generating public/private rsa key pair.
Enter file in which to save the key (/us/adefaria/.ssh/id_rsa):

Hmmm... Guess I'll just default it...

Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase):
Enter same passphrase again:
open \033[6~ failed: No such file or directory.
Saving the key failed: .

Well that didn't work!

Hmmm....

$ touch ~/.ssh/id_rsa
$ ssh-keygen -t rsa
Generating public/private rsa key pair.
Enter file in which to save the key (/us/adefaria/.ssh/id_rsa):
/us/adefaria/.ssh/id_rsa already exists.
Overwrite (y/n)? y
Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase):
Enter same passphrase again:
Your identification has been saved in /us/adefaria/.ssh/id_rsa.
Your public key has been saved in /us/adefaria/.ssh/id_rsa.pub.

That appeared to work. Strange...

Testing this with an ssh $(hostname) id so I don't think I need to
mkdir. Did this command anyway...

OK...

OK...

Now for the test:

ssh $(hostname) id
adefaria@adefaria's password:

Darn! Still need to enter my password!

Any other ideas?
