problems with current squid

How big is squid trying to set RLIMIT_NOFILE?  I tried with a test
application and it failed to set the limit to more than 3200 entries.
YMMV since there's no fixed numbers of descriptors, only a fixed number
of bytes for a bunch of different jobs.
