ctrl-s freeze bash?

Ever heard of XON/XOFF  ASCII characters?

 XOFF - stop transmitting   (CTRL-S in many cases)
 XON  - start transmitting  (CTRL-Q in many cases)

 Try CTRL-Q when your "bash becomes inactive"
