You haven't provided much clarity, other than to activate spam filters, 
which may prevent many of us from seeing your query.  Which "it" are you 
attempting to patch?  If you are using the cygwin patch program to update 
your application, it should be sufficient to make sure you have selected it 
as one of the packages to install.
