cygpath solution

 I had similar problems with rxvt under 1.5.9-1...

 So it might be better to install the 20040322 snapshot.
Maybe even the upcoming 1.5.10 - depending on how quick you are.

[i.e:
	$ wget http://cygwin.com/snapshots/cygwin1-20040322.dll.bz2
	...
	$ mv cygwin1-20040322.dll /bin/cygwin1_NEW.dll 

	stop all cygwin programs,
	remove /bin/cygwin1.dll,
	rename the above as cygwin1.dll
]
