How to deal with DHCP and DNS(-tools)?

AFAICS, neither 'host' nor 'dig' are present in the Cygwin distribution.
If you compiled them yourself using the minires packages, please provide a
simple testcase of when it fails.  Otherwise, you'd have to ask whomever
you got these tools from.
