MPD transport_layer_pipes::connect: Error opening the pipe

Trying to compile: mpd subversion (musicpd.org), which is a server to
control your music over a tcp network on default port 6600.

Uname -a: CYGWIN_NT-5.1 computer 1.5.12(0.116/4/2) 2004-11-10 08:34
i686 unknown unknown Cygwin

Environment: Windows XP

I have gotten mpd-subversion compiled sucessfully, execution fails,
with the error message 'Bad System Call' even when adding --no-daemon.

Execution to get strace:
CYGWIN=server strace /usr/local/bin/mpd.exe

I have attached an strace and a cygcheck.out.

The issue seems to lie in:
transport_layer_pipes::connect: Error opening the pipe (2)
client_request::make_request: cygserver un-available

After doing some googling I was not able to find much out, and request
more information about how to rectify this error.

thanks,
avuton olrich
