This is probably related. I captured the attached strace and text of the
popup boxes on Win98 when doing a cvs update to an ssh server. The
attachment is from the 20050901 snapshot, and I also have a similar crash
from 20050824 if needed.
And I've been noticing these sorts of crashes, as mentioned in
http://sourceware.org/ml/cygwin/2005-07/msg01397.html. Any time I exit an
ssh process (ssh-agent, ssh used during a cvs update over ssh, etc) on
Win98, this bug is being tickled, bringing the system down to a crawl if
not an outright crash. Since the program in question always seems to work
just fine up until the exit, I agree that it does seem like something is
trying to dereference memory after the shutdown process has purged it, but
I can't follow the strace well enough myself to see where. Anything else
you'd like me to try?
