Just FYI, a real /dev already works (using mknod -- you just have to know
the device numbers). I've been running with a duplicate /dev (which I
called /ddev) since February, and while I haven't used all the devices,
those that I did use (ttyS*, console, clipboard, mem, dsp, random, zero,
null, fd0) worked fine.
Obligatory RTFM: also FYI, for faking /dev, see
<http://cygwin.com/cygwin-ug-net/using-specialnames.html#id4676548>.
