  This is in fact PR17725/PR17726/PR21792 in gcc bugzilla, first reported in
September 2004, but then deferred and then finally WONTFIXed when 3.4.x came
to the end of its lifespan earlier this year.  I'll fix it (most likely by
patching the build/packaging script) before doing the full, non-experimental
release.
