ntohl returns negative on Windows XP

ntohl is returning 0xFE725D7B as a negative number (-26059397). 
Is this the correct beavior. Should be: 4268907899?

variables being used are declared as unsigned int.
 
cyg version 1.90
windows XP professional 2002 service pack 2
