chkdsk hates rxvt?

I have recently started to use rxvt with bash. I don't use it with X11.
My OS is Windows XP Pro, service pack 2, all Microsoft updates applied.

From rxvt/bash, if I do this:
	cd C:/
	chkdsk /f c:

Then chkdsk will prompt me to do a boot time analysis. I respond "Y" for
yes. Then chkdsk hangs forever.

This does not occur if I launch chkdsk from a Windows DOS box.

Output from cygcheck -svr is attached.
