permissions on /proc/self/fd, process substitution, heredoc

hi.  I am trying to add a ssh key from process substitution and a
heredoc, and I am getting the following message:

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@         WARNING: UNPROTECTED PRIVATE KEY FILE!          @
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Permissions 0666 for '/proc/self/fd/63' are too open.
It is recommended that your private key files are NOT accessible by others.
This private key will be ignored.

here is the code I am trying to run:
ssh-add  <( cat << EOF
-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
[snip]
-----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
EOF
)

this works in linux.
