1. Install ssmtp from Cygwin.
2. Run /usr/bin/ssmtp-config to configure.
3. If needed edit the config file
/etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf)
and add your mail hub. For example:
mailhub=smtp.comcast.net:587
4. In Perl, you use:
my $msg = MIME::Lite->new(
From => 'me@home.net',
To => 'someone@yahoo.com',
Subject => "This is a test",
Type => 'AUTO',
Encoding => 'base64',
Path => $file
);
$msg->send('sendmail', '/usr/sbin/ssmtp', 'someone@yahoo.com');
