RSync random failures

I have RSync installed as a service on a Windows XP laptop. The previous version (2.x?) did not exhibit the problems I am having now. The service stops. It typically stops during shutdown but sometimes while it is operating during a typical rsync operation. By "stops" I mean that it fails unexpectedly and leaves the PID file which prevents RSync from restarting.

A suggestion of adding "-O" to the cygrunsrv command creating the service has helped, but it did not solve the problem. However, since the last failure occurred during normal operation of the laptop (no shutdown, hibernate, etc.), I am starting a new thread. For completeness, here is the current command used to install rsync as a service:

cygrunsrv -I rsyncd -O -e CYGWIN=nontsec -p /cygdrive/c/cygwin/bin/rsync.exe -a "--config=/cygdrive/c/rsyncd/rsyncd.conf --daemon --no-detach"

In the event log the following message was found:

rsyncd: PID 1800: rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at /home/lapo/packaging/rsync-3.0.4-1/src/rsync-3.0.4/clientserver.c(985) [receiver=3.0.4].

This occurred while communicating with a Linux (Gentoo) box via BackupPC which uses File::RSyncP ( http://backuppc.sourceforge.net/ )

Any clues? Attached is my cygcheck -s.

Thanks,

-Allan
