Executables made by Linux is not running on Cygwin

Hi,
     the short answer is: it won't work. Executables (and libraries) 
produced in Linux (and for Linux) do not run in Cygwin. Executables (and 
libraries) produced in Cygwin do not run in Linux (unless Wine or 
similar is used).

The long answer is... well there are hundreds of brilliant persons in 
this list that can give you the long answer better than I could possibly do.
