GNU screen hangs

slrn is not an email program; it's an NNTP program.
I'm reading this list through news.gmane.org; I try
not to subscribe to mailing lists as mail, because
it's too much pain to procmail them all, and too much
stuff I don't need in my inbox. NNTP is a much better
protocol for the purpose.
