Building "trueprint" fails with missing ref to _libintl_gettext

You can also do something like

./configure LIBS=-lintl

or

./configure LIBS="-lintl -lfoobar"

If configure was built with a semi-recent autoconf, that will also  
propagate into the Makefile without your needing to tweak the Makefile.
