zsh path completion extremly slow

Hi,

I'm using the zsh under cygwin 1.7.5 and consider speed problems while
trying to complete a path while changing the directory. That means if I
enter

$ cd /cy

and hit TAB it lasts up to 5 or more seconds (really!) without
responding. I even cannot stop completion with CTRL-C.

I googled the problem and found the very old thread:
http://www.mail-archive.com/cygwin@cygwin.com/msg18130.html

I tried already all mentioned ideas like started without my .zshrc and
shortening $PATH down. Nothing is helping. Bash is doing this immediately.

$ setopt
interactive
login
monitor
shinstdin
zle

I also tried to rebind TAB menu complete. That didn't work either.

Cheers,
Jan
