How to avoid the installation of Latex

You must have something installed that requires it.  One possibility is 
that you have one of the (now obsolete) tetex packages installed.  If 
so, run setup.exe and uncheck "Hide obsolete packages" at the bottom of 
the package selection screen.  If you see anything involving tetex, 
uninstall it.
