ftell() fails on files in shared folders

Hm, I'm out of clues then. These machines have very simple setups and
I did not find any app from Cygwin BLODA list.

Do you think it makes sense to try the latest Cygwin? Mine is 2 months
old but I don't expect basic IO to change that often...
