How big are your /etc/passwd and /etc/group files?

Sorta -- If you don't have them listed in your group file then
they won't be listed when you type 'id'.

They'll still be part of your credential -- just not listed...

that's why I said it was mostly for informational/interest purposes...

That way I can know what 'trust' level I am logged in with.
