Corruption message after updating binutils (both Cygwin/MingW)

The above occurs for i686-w64-mingw32, x86_64-w64-mingw32, 
x86_64-pc-cygwin but NOT for i686-pc-mingw32 whose binutils have not 
been upgraded recently...
