Force "ls" to show .exe extension

Drat. If I pipe files to 'xargs ls', the unaliased ls command is used:

   type -pa pdfcrop | xargs ls

I can always append asterisks to each pdfcrop path using sed, or even
explicitly type --append-exe [:(] .
