Cygwin error

I attempted to use the gcc command to find out if it were working, and 
it gave me this error:


G:\Homework\Week 2>gcc
       0 [main] gcc 12776 find_fast_cwd: WARNING: Couldn't compute

gcc: no input files

I should mention:
I am on a flash drive,
I have tried using the full gcc command,
I have put cygwin in the path.
