I really appreciate this feature. Sadly, it isn't working for me because 
the post-install script that achieves this doesn't quote the filenames. 
So if a font has a space in its filename you end up with a symbolic link 
that points to itself.

Please could you update the post-install script 
'zp_fontconfig_cache_1.sh'. The following worked for me:

     for f in $(grep -l 'Microsoft Corp' "`cygpath -W`"/Fonts/*.ttf)
     do
       if [ ! -e "/usr/share/fonts/microsoft/${f##*/}" ]
       then
         ln -s "$f" "/usr/share/fonts/microsoft/"
       fi
     done
