Sorry, I cannot reproduce it yet.
It seems weird that bash can not find /tmp.
But, I don't know it is related to the issue.

The contents of /etc/postinstall/lua.sh in package lua-5.3.6-2 is

when I update lua from lua-5.3.6-1 to lua-5.3.6-2
(no warning about /tmp and  /etc/postinstall/lua.sh seems to work well)
