Are there not some better processes for external Internet IP reporting, which 
are often from upstream DHCP sources; for example:

	$ curl https://api.ipify.org		# get IP V4 address
	$ curl https://ipecho.net/plain		# get IP V6 address
and/or
	$ whois `curl https://api.ipify.org`	# get netblock addresses
	$ whois `curl https://ipecho.net/plain`	# get netblock addresses
